Find a cofounder while you are still studying

You can start a company while you study. You do not need a finished idea or a degree first. Browse early-career cofounders across Finland and read their profiles without signing up. Then add a free profile that says what you study, what you like making and how much time you have, so people outside your own course can find you.

Questions people in your position ask

Do I need a startup idea first?

No. The Looking for field on your profile is free text, so you can write that you are still exploring and what kind of problem interests you. Say what you can do today and what you want to learn.

Can I do this alongside my studies?

Yes, if you say so. Write how many hours a week you have and when that changes, for example after your thesis. Being clear about part-time time saves both sides a wasted first conversation.

Is this instead of my university's entrepreneurship society?

No, it adds to it. Societies are a good place to meet people in person, and some are listed below. The directory also lets you find people outside your campus and your year.

Student entrepreneurship societies in Finland

  • Aaltoes. The student-run entrepreneurship society at Aalto University in Espoo.
  • Helsinki Think Company. The entrepreneurship society of the University of Helsinki.
  • Kiuas. A founder collective for idea-stage builders in Otaniemi, Espoo.
  • Oamk Business Corner. Help for Oamk students building a business during their studies, on the Linnanmaa campus in Oulu.
