Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Trusted Cofounder, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all of these terms, you may not access or use the service. We may update these terms from time to time. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
2. Description of Service
Trusted Cofounderis a free, public catalogue of Finnish founders and cofounders looking to build together. There is no cost to sign up, no premium tier, and no revenue model. When you sign up, your profile is listed in the public directory by default unless you turn that off. You can optionally write a short “Looking for” description of what you need. We do not score, rank, or algorithmically match profiles against each other, and we do not use AI to analyse, parse, or generate any part of your profile or the descriptions you write. Discovery works the way a directory works: other users browse or search, read profiles, and decide for themselves who to reach out to. When two users express mutual interest, we open a direct conversation between them. We do not guarantee that using the service will result in finding a cofounder, and we are not a party to any agreement you reach with anyone you meet through it.
3. User Accounts and Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary. You must not impersonate another person or create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission. Any links you add to your profile (for example a GitHub username, personal website, writing, or portfolio URL) must be your own and accurately represent your work.
4. Acceptable Use
Trusted Cofounderexists for one purpose: helping founders and cofounders find a working partner to build with. It is not a platform for fundraising, investment solicitation, sales outreach, recruiting for unrelated roles, or promoting products or services. You must not use the service to solicit investment or payment from other users, misrepresent your identity or role, or contact other users for purposes unrelated to forming a founding team. Violating this section is grounds for removing your profile or account, including in response to another user’s report, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
5. The Public Directory and Introductions
Your profile appears in the public directory and at your own profile page whenever your listing setting is turned on. Depending on your identity setting, your name and photo may either be shown or kept hidden from anonymous visitors until they sign up. Profiles do not expire and are not automatically removed after a period of inactivity; the only way to leave the directory is to turn your listing off yourself. Anything another user can see about you on the platform is informational only. We do not guarantee the accuracy, suitability, or quality of any profile, and any decision to pursue a business relationship with another user is made entirely at your own discretion and risk. Trusted Cofounder is not a party to, and is not responsible for, any agreement between users who meet through the platform.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of Trusted Cofounder (including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software) are the exclusive property of Trusted Cofounderand its licensors. You retain ownership of the content you submit to the platform (your profile details, “Looking for” description, and any links you add), but grant us a license to display it as part of the public directory and profile pages for as long as your account remains active and your listing setting is turned on.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Trusted Cofounder shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the service. This includes, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses resulting from introductions, conversations, or business relationships formed through the platform. Trusted Cofounder is provided as a free, hosting-cost-only project, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may turn off your directory listing at any time from your profile without deleting your account, or you may terminate your account entirely by contacting us. Upon account termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Finland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Finland.
