What Slush is actually good for

Slush is one of Europe's largest startup conferences and takes place in Helsinki every November. It draws tens of thousands of attendees from across Europe and beyond, including a large number of investors, founders, and corporate innovation teams. It is a legitimately useful event for several things: investor introductions, benchmarking what stage other companies are at, and meeting people in a specific vertical you are building in.

What Slush is not designed for is cofounder matching. The conversations are short, often interrupted, and happening in a context where everyone is pitching. A cofounder relationship requires sustained evaluation over weeks or months, which is the opposite of what a large conference optimizes for.

Why the post-event follow-up matters more than the event
